Why convert to Mangal font at all?
Unicode text is future-proof. It works in email, PDFs, websites, databases and on phones, it can be searched and spell-checked, and it is the format government guidelines recommend for official Hindi. Converting your old Kruti Dev and DevLys archives once means you never depend on a font file again.
Tips for converting large documents
- Convert in chunks of a few pages so you can check the output as you go.
- English words inside a Kruti Dev document were usually typed in a different font (Arial, Times). Copy those separately, otherwise they will be converted too.
- After pasting into Word, press Ctrl+A and set the font to Mangal in one go. See Mangal font in MS Word.
