When do you need Mangal to Kruti Dev?
- An old office template, stamp layout or certificate design was made in Kruti Dev and cannot be redesigned.
- A DTP operator, printer or court office still works only in Kruti Dev.
- You typed in Mangal (or on your phone, or with Google Input) and need to hand it to someone using Kruti Dev.
How to convert Mangal font to Krutidev
- Paste your Unicode Hindi, for example प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय, into the left box.
- Copy the output on the right. It will look like English letters:
iz/kkuea=h dk;kZy;. - Paste it in Word, select it and choose Kruti Dev 010 from the font list. The text turns into correct Hindi.
Important: the output only looks like Hindi when the Kruti Dev 010 font is applied. That is exactly why Unicode Mangal is the better format for anything you will email, upload or publish.
Accuracy notes
The converter moves ि before its consonant cluster, moves the reph to the end of the syllable as Z, and uses Kruti Dev’s ready-made glyphs for क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ, श्र, द्य, द्व, क्र, द्ध, त्त, ह्म and other conjuncts. Conjuncts that Kruti Dev has no single glyph for are built from half letters, which is how a Kruti Dev typist would type them. Every phrase converted Mangal to Kruti Dev and back to Mangal returns unchanged in our tests.
